  1. In chapter three Paul has said that these terrible man he described our causing parallel times. He mentions all the different traits of them. But finally, he states they are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth..

  2. Paul gives the example of two men who had with stood Moses. And just like these men, they resist the truth, they have corrupt minds, and they are reprobate concerning the faith.

  3. Paul begins to elaborate on his own sufferings again to remind Timothy that taking a stand against men like this, will come with afflictions. He mentions the suffering that happened to him on his third missionary journey.

  4. Paul State that all that live, God will suffer persecution, and that because Christians take a stand, things are going to improve

  5. Paul explains that the scriptures are the most powerful way to combat these. You should continue in what he has learned because of the person that he learned them from. He learned them from Paul.

  6. Paul states that Timothy knew the scriptures from a child and these scriptures are not only from Paul, they're given by the inspiration of God
